Results From the John F. Hall United Way Cross Country Invitational Tuesday, 10/11/23
The John F. Hall United Way Cross Country Invitational was held Tuesday at Southside Park in Newton.
Two local runners finished in the top five of the girls’ invitational – Lexi Matthews of Bandys was second with a time of 21:50 and Marina Zavala-Medina of St.Stephens, 4th, 22:52. Two also in the boys’ race – Sean Reed of Bandys, 17:18.47 and Issac Carroll of Bandys, 18:13.
The top two runners in the boys’ race above finished in a dead heat with Damon Cook of Shelby winning at 17:18.36 and Sean Reed of Bandys, 17:18.47 just nine hundredths apart.
And finally, the team totals of the same boys’ race were only six points apart. Shelby 53, Patton 56, and Bandys 59.
