Residents Of Hickory Metro Charged In Drug Suspect Roundup

Residents of Caldwell and Alexander County are part of a group of suspects recently arrested in a drug enforcement operation.

The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office recently conducted a comprehensive drug round-up. This operation, part of the agency’s continuous investigations into drug trafficking, specifically targeted those described as career and repeat offenders.

The round-up led to the arrest of eleven individuals, many of whom have histories of alleged criminal activity related to drug distribution and other felonies. Tips and information from concerned citizens played an important role in identifying and apprehending these offenders.

34-year-old Joshua Louis Fariss of Campground Road in Granite Falls is charged with three felony counts apiece of possession with intent to sell or deliver schedule III controlled substance and sell or deliver schedule III controlled substance. Fariss is also charged with two felony counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver schedule VI controlled substance and a single count of sell or deliver schedule VI controlled substance. His bond was set at $50,000.

29-year-old Davion Dominic Peterson of Elk Shoals Church Loop in Taylorsville is charged with two felony counts of possession with intent to sell & deliver schedule II controlled substance. He’s also charged with one felony count of sell or deliver schedule II controlled substance. Peterson was not issued a bond due to additional pending charges.

Of the other nine suspects arrested, three are from Statesville, two are from Mooresville, and there are also residents of Stony Point, Winston-Salem, Cleveland, N.C. and Columbus, Ohio on the list. This operation is part of a series of ongoing investigations aimed at dismantling drug networks.
