Two women are facing major drug trafficking charges after a traffic stop in Alexander County. According to the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Hubbard Road Wednesday evening (June 24). During the stop, deputies allegedly discovered 201 grams of methamphetamine inside the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, 49-year-old Kandra Vang of Granite Falls was charged with two counts of felony trafficking methamphetamine, felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver methamphetamine, felony maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor driving while license revoked, and driving left of center.

Also arrested was 37-year-old Mai See Hang of Conover. She was charged with two counts of felony trafficking methamphetamine, felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver methamphetamine, felony maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both suspects were placed in the Alexander County Detention Center under $500,000 secured bonds. Their first court appearances are scheduled for June 29 in Taylorsville.
