CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WHKY) – The American Red Cross is teaming up with Hello Kitty and Friends in September in an effort to encourage more people to donate blood, platelets or plasma.

People who come to donate between September 1 and September 20 will receive an exclusive Red Cross and Hello Kitty plush mascot clip and a surprise sticker pack while supplies last.

The promotion is available to presenting donors during the campaign period and is subject to the availability of donation appointments and promotional items.

The Red Cross relies on volunteer donors to provide blood products for patients in hospitals and medical facilities. Residents can find nearby donation opportunities through the Red Cross blood donation website.
