28-year-old Luis Manuel Valdez of Raleigh was arrested Saturday (August 19) by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony failure to report a new address as a sex offender, breaking and entering with intent to terrorize or injure, and assault on a female. Probation & Parole charged Valdez with parole violation.

Valdez is on the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry as a result of a conviction in January, 2017 for indecent liberties with a minor and kidnapping against a minor. He received 16 to 29 months in prison and was required to register as a sex offender for a minimum of ten years.

Following the arrest, Valdez was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $10,000 bond, District Court dates were scheduled today (August 21) and Wednesday (August 23).
