Probation Absconder Arrested on Trafficking Charge

52-year-old Brian Kelly Ferguson of Glenwood Place in Lenoir was arrested yesterday (February 26) on charges from the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office and the Lenoir Police Department. Lenoir Police charged Ferguson with felony counts of trafficking in opium or heroin and possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver a schedule II controlled substance. He was also charged as an habitual felon. The Sheriff’s Office charged Ferguson with two felony probation violations. He is on probation as he serves a 24-month suspended sentence following a June 2023 felony conviction in Caldwell County for possession of a schedule II controlled substance. He had been listed as an absconder from probation.

Following his arrest Monday, Ferguson was placed in the Caldwell County Detention Center with bond set at $50,000, secured. He remained in jail as of this morning. An appearance in Superior Court was scheduled for April 1 in Lenoir.
