Police Seeking Suspect In Shooting, Asking For Public’s Help

A shooting is under investigation and police were asking for the public’s assistance in finding one of the suspects involved. One of the individuals authorities believe took part in the crime has been taken into custody.

On June 2, 2021, Statesville Police Department Officers responded to an address on Rolling Lane in Statesville in reference to an assault with weapons. When officers arrived on the scene, they found one victim suffering from three gunshot wounds. Iredell County Sheriff’s Deputies, the Statesville Fire Department, and Iredell County EMS were also at the scene providing medical care to the victim.

The victim was later transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and has since been released from the hospital. Statesville Police Department Investigators arrived on the scene and conducted numerous interviews with witnesses and collected evidence. Investigators determined two suspects are responsible.

On Friday (July 16), Investigators positively identified one of the suspects and obtained a secured custody order on a 16-year-old juvenile. The juvenile has been placed under arrest and is currently being held at a juvenile facility in Charlotte. The investigation is currently ongoing to identify the additional suspect.
