Police Investigating Shooting Into Occupied Home

An area law enforcement agency is investigating an incident in which shots were fired into a home. Lincoln County Sheriff’s detectives are conducting an investigation into the incident, which occurred Monday (March 13) in eastern Lincoln County.

During the early morning hours Monday, deputies were dispatched to a home in the 3500 block of Niblick Court in Denver, N.C. where shots had been fired into a home. A party was being held at the residence. When officers arrived at the scene most of those attending the party had left.

Two women were still on the scene when police arrived. They told officers shots were fired into the home and everyone attending the party ran from the house out the back door to the back yard and left the scene.

Officers noticed bullet holes to windows on each side of the front door and other areas of the structure. They also discovered additional shots had been fired into the second floor of the home. No one was injured in the incident and the investigation is continuing. A number of shell casings were also discovered in the driveway of the home. The investigation is continuing.
