A pedestrian was struck and killed in Watauga County. The deceased is 57-year-old Tammy Regina Wolfe of Boone.

On Monday (April 24) at approximately 7:30 p.m., the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to U.S 321 near Old U.S. Highway 421. A 2014 Ford Escape was traveling north on U.S. 321 and struck a pedestrian in the northbound lane. The pedestrian, who was identified as Tammy Regina Wolfe, was attempting to cross the roadway. She passed away from her injuries at the scene.

The driver of the Ford Escape, A Vilas woman, was not injured. During the on-scene investigation, the roadway was closed in the area for over two hours. No charges are expected.
