Open Burning Restrictions Lifted

North Carolina Department of Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler has announced that, as of 5 p.m. today (November 22) open burning restrictions have been lifted. At the same time, the Burke County Fire Marshals Office will also lift open burning restrictions. The bans were listed after the area received almost two inches of rain over a 36-hour period.

Citizens are reminded that conditions can change rapidly. Residents are encouraged to visit the North Carolina Forest Service website at ncforestservice.gov (click here) to obtain information on open burning rules and regulations prior to conducting any open burning.
