At about 5:20 p.m. yesterday (February 28), Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to assist county fire departments with an active structure fire on the 2,100 block of Fox Creek Trail in Lincolnton.

Deputies learned that an individual was inside the burning residence. Fire Department personnel were able to remove the victim from the residence, but the individual died at the scene from injuries incurred during the fire.

The victim’s identity has not been released.
