HILDEBRAN, N.C. (WHKY) – A Hickory man is facing multiple felony charges following an investigation into stolen communication lines in Hildebran. A second suspect was being sought in this case. The Burke County Sheriff’s Office says deputies found communication lines cut down along South Center Street on August 27. Investigators developed a suspect vehicle, which deputies later found and stopped.

The driver was identified as 36-year-old David Loransa Young II. Investigators say evidence linked Young to the theft, and deputies also found a firearm inside the vehicle. Young is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing a gun. He’s charged with felony injuring wires or fixtures, obtaining property by false pretenses, and possession of a firearm by a felon. Young was given a $75,000 secured bond and is due back in court September 18th.

Investigators also identified 39-year-old Anthony Jackson Lewis of Vale as a suspect. Felony warrants have been issued for Lewis. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.
