Officers Reportedly Find A Pound Of Meth At Valdese Home, Arrest Woman On Felony Charges

42-year-old Johnnie Denise Hickman of Tom Deal Avenue in Valdese was arrested Wednesday (May 26) by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers. She’s charged with felony counts of trafficking in methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for controlled substances, possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver methamphetamine, and possession of a firearm by a felon. She’s also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Wednesday, Burke County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators and NC Probation and Parole initiated an investigation at an address on Tom Deal Avenue in Valdese. While at the residence, Officers made contact with Johnnie Denise Hickman who is currently on probation for a felony conviction. Officers reportedly spotted controlled substances and drug paraphernalia and applied for a search warrant.

The search reportedly resulted in the seizure of approximately one pound of methamphetamine and a large quantity of U.S. currency. Hickman was arrested and placed in the Burke County Jail without bond. A District Court appearance was scheduled today (May 28).
