A Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputy was injured Monday night (February 20) when he was struck by a vehicle on Highway 73 near the Highway 16 intersection. The deputy was traveling Highway 73 in Denver when he came upon two females fighting in the middle of the road. During the altercation, one of the females got into a vehicle and sped away striking the officer.

The deputy was transported to Atrium Health-Charlotte with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect was found at a residence in Charlotte and taken into custody. She was later returned to Lincoln County where she was being interviewed in connection to the incident.
