Off-Duty Catawba County Deputy Fired after D.W.I. Arrest

At about 3 a.m. Saturday (April 9), an off-duty Catawba County Sheriff’s Deputy assigned to the Patrol Division was arrested by Granite Falls Police for driving while impaired. He has been identified as 30-year-old Ryan Lee Hamby. He reportedly registered a .15 blood alcohol content. Hamby’s employment has been terminated. An appearance in District Court was scheduled for June 16.
