North Carolinians Urged To Claim Money From Generic Drug Settlements

RALEIGH, N.C. (WHKY) North Carolina Attorney General Jeff Jackson is urging eligible residents to claim compensation from a series of settlements involving allegations that drug manufacturers conspired to raise prices on certain generic medications.

A court has preliminarily approved a plan involving North Carolina and 47 other states and territories to distribute a combined $96.5 million to consumers nationwide.

North Carolinians may be eligible if they purchased certain generic drugs between May 2009 and December 2019.

Consumers can check the list of qualifying medications and determine their eligibility by calling 1-866-290-0182, emailing info@AGGenericDrugs.com, or visiting AGGenericDrugs.com. Eligible consumers can then submit a claim for compensation.

The settlements involve Glenmark, Lannett, Bausch, Apotex, Heritage and Heritage’s parent company, Emcure.

The states’ antitrust lawsuits allege drug manufacturers and executives engaged in agreements and communications designed to discourage competition and increase prices. The allegations remain claims in ongoing litigation.

Attorney General Jackson says the settlements are intended to return money to North Carolinians who paid allegedly inflated prices for generic drugs.
