No New COVID-19-Related Deaths Reported In Hickory Metro: Tuesday Morning Update

According to Monday’s (March 29) update from Catawba County Public Health, COVID-19 hospitalizations dropped in Catawba County over the weekend. The update showed 13 hospitalizations, three fewer than Friday (March 26). 52 new cases of the coronavirus were reported between Friday and Monday, increasing the total to 17,770. There were no new virus-related deaths reported, leaving the total at 293.

19 new cases of the coronavirus were reported in Burke County, raising the total to 9,700, with 147 deaths. Hospitalizations in Burke County fell to one as of Monday’s update. 15 new cases of the virus were reported in Caldwell County, increasing the total to 8,953, with 140 deaths. There were seven people hospitalized. 57 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Alexander County between 5 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. Monday, increasing the total to 4,137, with 84 deaths.

There were no new coronavirus-associated deaths reported in the Hickory Metro.
