No New COVID-19 Deaths Reported In Hickory Metro, Hospitalizations Drop In Catawba County: Monday Morning Update

According to the most recent reports, no additional COVID-19 related deaths have been reported in the Hickory Metro. The most recent update from Catawba County Public Health showed a reduction in hospitalizations. According to Friday’s (March 19) update there were 27 new cases, increasing the total to 17,568, with 291 deaths. Hospitalizations fell to 20, from 27 in Thursday’s (March 18) update.

21 new cases of the coronavirus were reported Friday in Caldwell County, increasing the total to 8,875, with 138 deaths. There were 16 people hospitalized. 17 new COVID-19 cases were reported Friday in Burke County, raising the tally to 9,644, with 146 deaths. There were three people hospitalized. Between Friday and this morning (March 22) 11 new cases of the virus were reported in Alexander County, raising the total to 4.031.
