No COVID-19-Related Deaths Reported In Catawba County Monday, Hospitalizations Fall To One In Burke: Tuesday Morning Update

Catawba County Public Health reported no COVID-19-related deaths on Monday (March 8), leaving the total at 288. There were 35 new cases of the coronavirus reported Monday, increasing the overall total to 17,286. Hospitalizations increased slightly, from 20 on Sunday to 22 Monday.

Burke County Public Health reported three COVID-19-associated deaths on Monday, increasing the total to 146. Two of the individuals were in their 80s and one was in their 70s. The total case count in Burke County as of Monday is listed at 9,492. There was only one person hospitalized with the virus.

One virus-related death was reported between Friday (March 5) and Monday in Caldwell County, increasing the total to 138. 17 new cases of the coronavirus were reported between Friday and Monday, raising the total to 8,776. There were 17 people hospitalized.

Six new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Monday in Alexander County, increasing the total to 3,957, with 84 deaths. There were ten people hospitalized.
