33-year-old Shannon Nicole Bentley, who is listed as a homeless person from Newton, was arrested Saturday (October 21) by Newton Police Officers. She’s charged with felony trafficking, opium or heroin along with misdemeanor counts of resisting a public officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, cyberstalking, and failure to appear on a misdemeanor. Bentley was confined in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $4,000 bond. She remained in jail as of earlier today (October 23). District Court dates were scheduled today and October 31.
