34-year-old Amy Lee Edwards, who is listed as a homeless person from Newton, was arrested Wednesday (March 1) by Probation & Parole Officers. She’s charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of felony probation violation.

Edwards is on probation as a result of a conviction in Catawba County in May, 2022 for felony possession with intent to sell schedule II controlled substance. She received probation and a 24 month suspended sentence. Edwards is listed as an absconder from probation/parole supervision on the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website.

Following Wednesday’s arrest, Edwards was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $162,000 bond. A Superior Court date is scheduled next Monday (March 6).
