43-year-old Karla Leann Blackwell of South Main Avenue in Newton was arrested last Friday (April 7) by Hickory Police Officers. She’s charged with felony trafficking, opium or heroin and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Blackwell was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under no bond. She remained in jail as of earlier today (April 11). A District Court date was scheduled Monday (April 10).
