Newton Woman Charged With Drug Offenses, Multiple Counts Of Probation Violation
31-year-old Jasmin Marie Andrews of Rover Street in Newton was arrested Monday (July 24) by Newton Police Officers. She’s charged with three felony counts of probation violation, single felony counts of possession of schedule I and II controlled substance and possession of methamphetamine, along with two misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Andrews is on probation as a result of a conviction in January, 2022 in Catawba County for felony possession of schedule II controlled substance. Andrews received probation and a 36 month suspended sentence.
According to the North Carolina Department Of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website, Andrews has multiple convictions dating back to 2017. She’s been convicted of various crimes in Catawba, Lincoln, and Cleveland Counties. The charges include multiple felony counts possession of schedule II controlled substance, felony obtaining property by false pretense, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Following Monday’s arrest, Andrews was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under a total bond of $62,001.98. A District Court date was scheduled today (July 25), a Superior Court date is set for September 21.
