51-year-old Brian Blake Blackburn, Sr. of West 15th Street in Newton has been arrested by Probation & Parole Officers in Catawba County for a felony probation violation and defrauding a drug or alcohol screening. Blackburn is on probation as he serves a 30-month suspended sentence following a May 2022 felony conviction in Catawba County for trafficking in methamphetamine.

He was jailed today (October 13) in the Catawba County Detention Facility with bond set at $15,000. An appearance in Superior Court is coming up Monday (October 16) in Newton.
