30-year-old Christopher Lee Eric Watson of 16th Avenue SE in Newton was arrested Saturday (February 4) by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle and possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Watson is also charged with two misdemeanor counts apiece of larceny and probation violation, one count of rear lamps violation, and five counts of failure to appear on charges including second-degree trespass and larceny by changing price tag.

Watson was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under a total bond of $52,499. He remained in jail as of earlier today (February 7). District Court dates were scheduled for Monday (February 6) and February 21. Watson has Superior Court dates set for February 20 and February 23.
