27-year-old Phillip Todd Francis of North Stewart Street in Newton was arrested last Friday (December 30) on charges filed by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers and Conover Police Department. The Sheriff’s Office charged Francis with trafficking, opium or heroin, possession of methamphetamine, resisting a public officer, driving while license revoked, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Conover Police charged him with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Francis was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $63,000 bond. District Court dates are scheduled Tuesday (January 3) and for March 27.
