29-year-old Christopher Jay Lynch of Sterling Ridge Drive in Newton was arrested Sunday (March 12) by Newton Police Officers. He’s charged with two felony counts of trafficking, opium or heroin, single felony counts of possession of schedule II controlled substance and maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place to keep controlled substance, misdemeanor counts of resisting a public officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, and damage to property. Lynch is also charged with reckless driving with wanton disregard and fail to heed light or siren.

Lynch was incarcerated in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $110,000 bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (March 13). A District Court date was scheduled today.
