Newton City Manager Jonathan Franklin delivered his notice of resignation to Newton City Council during their regular meeting March 14. Franklin’s resignation is effective April 14.

In a news release from the city, Franklin said “I am proud of the progress we have made during my tenure as city manager. The projects that we have started will provide positive impacts to Newton for decades to come. The city is on a great path that will lead to continued successes.”

Franklin said he has been honored to serve Newton’s citizens and has enjoyed working with dedicated elected officials. He said he will work in the coming weeks to ensure a smooth transition in leadership.
