New Beginnings Hickory To Hold Annual Celebration

A local men’s recovery home is celebrating two years in Hickory this weekend. New Beginnings Hickory, located at 706 Main Avenue SE will hold a cookout Saturday (October 7) to commemorate the facility’s second year in operation. It’s the third annual event, including the grand opening celebration in 2021.

The event will run from 5-7 p.m. Saturday on the facility’s lawn. A tent will be set up and barbeque with all of the fixins will be available along with other food items. The meal is free of charge, but donations will be accepted and there will be items including t-shirts, sweatshirts, coffee mugs, and hats for sale to raise funds for the non-profit organization.

New Beginnings is a sober living home that helps men transition back into everyday life while recovering from the effects of alcohol and drug use. The facility formerly housed recovery programs run by the Flynn Home and Hope Valley. New Beginnings opened in September, 2021.
