Neon Night Ride Planned for Friday in Lenoir

Friday is the last day of school, so that means it’s time for the Neon Night Ride on the City of Lenoir greenway! This family-friendly event is open to everyone who can ride a bicycle. Come to the Lenoir Rotary Soccer Complex at 8:30 pm, Friday, May 31, 2024. No registration is needed.

We encourage you to decorate your bike ahead of time and bring a bike light or head lamp! You can use the following to light your bike: glow sticks, glow necklaces, LED bike lights, glow-in-the-dark tape, headlamps, other stuff that glows! We will also have some glow items available at the soccer complex for you to wear or put on your bike. Attendees can decorate their bikes from 8:30 to 9:00 pm.

The ride will start around 9:00 pm and travel from the Lenoir Rotary Soccer Complex to the Powell Road parking lot. We’ll take a short break and then head back to the Lenoir Rotary Soccer Complex. We will have lead and tail riders to keep us together as a group. Restrooms are available at the soccer complex and Powell Road parking lot.

Please follow the rules to make sure the ride is fun for everyone:
Bicycles only
Helmets required
No passing
No scooters
No skateboards
No walking

Please bring a bicycle helmet. In North Carolina, children under 16 who are riding on a public roadway, public bicycle path, or other public right-of-way must wear a properly fitted bicycle helmet.
