Nebo Man Charged With Fentanyl Possession In Burke County
31-year-old Anthony Thomas Moran of N.C. 226 South in Nebo was arrested last Saturday (May 20) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged with felony possession of schedule I controlled substance (fentanyl).
On Saturday, shortly before 11 a.m., a Public Safety Officer responded to an address on West Fleming Drive in Morganton in reference to an unknown problem. Burke County EMS was at the scene and was speaking with a man who was later identified as the suspect, Anthony Moran. Moran kept saying he was tired and did not need medical intervention. The officer noticed that the suspect was lethargic and was having a hard time maintaining his posture.
According to police reports, the arresting officer seized two grams of fentanyl during the investigation. Moran was brought to the Burke County Jail under $5,000 secured bond. He was not listed as an inmate in Burke County as of earlier today (May 25). His next District Court date is set for June 12.
