ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. (WHKY) – At the Alexander County Fire Chiefs’ meeting on August 13, the fire departments and Rescue Squad were presented with checks from NC Senator Eddie Settle. The funds provided to the fire departments will be divided equally among each department to assist with the purchase of much-needed equipment. The Alexander Rescue Squad was also presented with a $20,000 check.

“On behalf of Alexander County, the Alexander County Fire Marshal’s Office, and all of the agencies represented, we would like to sincerely thank Senator Eddie Settle for his continued hard work and dedication to supporting emergency services in Alexander County,” said Chris Hicks, Fire Marshal. “We would also like to thank Commissioner Kent Herman for his involvement and continued support of the emergency services agencies throughout Alexander County. Your support makes a difference in helping our first responders have the equipment and resources they need to serve and protect our community.”
