The North Carolina State Highway Patrol has released the name of the person killed during an incident on U.S. 321 in Caldwell County Wednesday morning (October 14). 43-year-old Jason Sheh Ali of Nebo was the individual who was killed after being struck by a vehicle. Highway Patrol says Ali was hit and killed by a minivan after he tried to run from the scene of a crash.
Ali was reportedly driving a Pontiac Vibe that rear-ended another vehicle at approximately 5:30 a.m. Wednesday in the northbound lanes of Highway 321, near Mission Road, just south of Hudson. Ali then got out of his truck and ran across the highway, where he was hit by a minivan in the southbound lanes. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ali was then struck by another vehicle as he ran from the scene across US 321. There were no other serious injuries in the incident. There will be no charges against the other drivers involved.
