LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. (WHKY) – A man operating a motorcycle was killed in a crash in Lincoln County. The deceased is 42-year-old Christopher Ryan Preston of Iron Station.

On Sunday (September 13) just before 3:30 p.m., The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to Forney Hill Road at Maple Brook Drive in reference to a fatal collision. During the investigation, it was determined that a 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, driven by Christopher Ryan Preston was traveling east on Forney Hill Road. A grey 2023 Amazon delivery van attempted a left turn from Maple Brook Drive and was struck by the Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle, Christopher Ryan Preston, passed away from his injuries at the scene of the collision. The driver of the van was treated for minor injuries on scene by Lincoln County EMS. It was determined that speed was a contributing factor in the collision. There will be no charges filed in this case.
