Motorcyclist Killed In Catawba County Crash
A motorcycle driver was killed in a crash earlier today (October 21) in Catawba County. The male victim’s name had not been released.
Today at approximately 10:00 a.m., the NC State Highway Patrol responded to US 321 near NC 10 (mile marker 37). A 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling south on US 321, drove off the left side of the road, and struck the median cable guidewires.
The driver of the motorcycle passed away from his injuries at the scene. During the on-scene investigation, the northbound and southbound lanes of US 321 were partially closed in the area for two hours. The initial investigation indicates speed and alcohol were not contributing circumstances in the collision.
The investigation is continuing and the victim’s name was being withheld pending the conclusion of the probe.
