60-year-old Janet Leslie Dilworth, who is listed as a homeless person from Morganton, was arrested Thursday (September 7) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. She’s charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance along with misdemeanor counts of second-degree trespass and open container of alcohol violation.

Shortly after midnight Thursday morning, a Public Safety Officer responded to an address on North King Street in Morganton in reference to a trespassing complaint. The officer made contact with the individual in question, identified as the suspect, Dilworth. The officer reportedly seized .3 grams of methamphetamine during the investigation and took Dilworth into custody.

The suspect was incarcerated in the Burke County Jail under $10,000 secured bond. She remained in jail as of earlier today (September 8). A District Court appearance was scheduled Thursday, no upcoming court dates were listed.
