Morganton Woman Charged With Felony & Misdemeanor Offenses

58-year-old Robin Beam Surratt-Wilson of LR Walker Road in Morganton was arrested Sunday (August 27) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. She’s charged with felony obtaining property by false pretense and misdemeanor financial transaction fraud.

A Public Safety Officer conducted a traffic stop on West Fleming Drive in Morganton and came into contact with the suspect. It was learned that there was an outstanding order for arrest for Surratt-Wilson. She was taken into custody without incident. The warrants are dated June 7, 2023.

According to the North Carolina Department Of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website, Robin Beam Surratt-Wilson has multiple convictions dating back to 2003. She’s been convicted of multiple crimes including felony counts of larceny and possession of schedule II controlled substance. The most recent conviction was in May, 2018 in Burke County for felony possession of schedule II controlled substance.

Following the arrest, Surratt-Wilson was brought to the Burke County Jail under $3,000 secured bond. She was not listed as an inmate in Burke County as of earlier today (September 1). She has District Court dates September 18 and 22.
