24-year-old Amber Marie Carswell of Fletcher Street in Morganton was arrested last Thursday (August 10) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. She’s charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver schedule II controlled substance (methamphetamine) and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Carswell is also charged in Burke County with misdemeanor larceny along with traffic offenses including speeding. She also faces a count of driving while license revoked in Caldwell County.

Shortly after midnight Thursday morning a Public Safety Officer responded to an address on Salem Road at Sunrise Lane in Morganton. The officer reported the seizure of .6 grams of methamphetamine. Carswell was taken into custody and charged with the felony and misdemeanor drug offenses.

Carswell was brought to the Burke County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond. She was not listed as an inmate in Burke County as of earlier today (August 15). Burke County District Court dates are scheduled for August 25, August 31, and September 1. A Caldwell County District Court date is set for September 28.
