Morganton Woman Charged With Felony Following Traffic Stop

54-year-old Charlisa Terrelle Kincaid of Willowtree Church Avenue in Morganton was arrested Sunday (December 31) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. She’s charged with felony probation violation out of county along with three counts of failure to appear for failure to comply.

Shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday, a Public Safety Officer initiated a traffic stop on Elm Street in Morganton. The officer came into contact with the suspect, who initally gave a false name. The suspect, Kincaid, reportedly admitted that she gave the officer a fake name because there were warrants out on her.

Kincaid is on probation as a result of a conviction in Rutherford County in February, 2023 for felony larceny. She received probation and a 24 month suspended sentence. The North Carolina Department Of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website shows convictions for Kincaid dating back to 1995 in multiple counties including Burke, Rutherford, and Catawba.

Following Sunday’s arrest, Kincaid was placed in the Burke County Jail under $50,801 bond. She remained in jail under that bond amount as of earlier today (January 2). A District Court appearance is scheduled for January 22.
