41-year-old Amanda Kaye Reed of Amherst Road in Morganton was arrested by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers. She’s charged with felony counts of trafficking methamphetamine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver meth, possession of meth, and possession of fentanyl.

On August 11, 2023, Burke County Sheriff’s Office Detectives and Narcotics Investigators, the Morganton Department of Public Safety, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations, and a North Carolina Department of Public Safety K-9 executed a search warrant for an address on Amherst Road in Morganton.

While searching the residence, approximately 83 grams of a substance believed to be meth, 1.3 grams of suspected fentanyl and numerous opioids were found. Amanda Kaye Reed was arrested and charged. Reed was brought to the Burke County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond. She was not listed as an inmate as of earlier today (August 17). A District Court date is set for September 1.
