38-year-old Amanda Kaye Reed of Walker Road in Morganton has been arrested by Burke Co. Sheriff’s Officers has been arrested on felony counts of trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of a schedule II controlled substance (meth), maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for a controlled substance, and possession of a schedule I controlled substance. She was also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
On October 1, Officers with the North Carolina Department of Probation & Parole, along with Burke Co. Sheriff’s Detectives, conducted an investigation at the Walker Road residence. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Amanda Kaye Reed, who was on probation and was a resident of the mobile home. During a search of the residence, meth, drug paraphernalia, and schedule I controlled substances were found and seized.
Reed was arrested and placed in the Burke County Jail under a $30,000 secured bond. She was no longer listed as an inmate in Burke County as of Monday morning (October 5). A first appearance in District Court was scheduled last Friday (October 2) in Morganton.
