Morganton Teenager Jailed On Vehicle Break-in, Firearm Theft Charges

18-year-old Jayden Iverson Hoffpauir of Morganton was arrested Tuesday (February 21) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of breaking and entering to a motor vehicle and larceny of a firearm.

Tuesday at 7:56 a.m., Morganton Public Safety Officers responded to Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market on North Green Street in reference to a break-in to a vehicle and the theft of a firearm. A Criminal Investigator responded and the suspect, Hoffpauir, was identified. He was found by police at an Edgewood Circle residence. A search of that home resulted in the discovery of some of the property stolen in this crime.

Hoffpauir was arrested and transported to the Burke County Jail, where he was incarcerated under a $10,000 secured bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (February 23). A District Court appearance was scheduled today in Morganton.
