The Morganton Cultural Arts Commission is seeking artists for its annual “Sculpture on the Town” exhibition as the city prepares to host the 2027 North Carolina Main Street Conference. The conference, set for March 8 through 11, is expected to bring more than 800 visitors from five states to downtown Morganton.

To help showcase the city’s public art program, MCAC is expanding the exhibition with new sculpture locations at major gateways into the city. Four new large-scale sculptures will be installed in highly visible locations, while a sculpture on North Green Street has become a permanent part of the city’s collection through a private donation.

Artists can apply through the MCAC website at www.morganton.art. The submission deadline is September 30th, with selected works to be installed by January 30th, 2027.
