Morganton Residents Charged With Drug Offenses Following Investigation

61-year-old Bruce Allen Hanna of Silver Creek Church Road and 31-year-old Stephanie Denise Brown of East Union Street, both from Morganton, were arrested by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers. Hanna is charged with felony counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver heroin and methamphetamine, possession of heroin and meth, and maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for a controlled substance. He’s also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Brown is charged with felony possession of meth and misdemeanor failure to appear. Three other suspects were arrested in this case and charged with misdemeanor offenses.

Burke County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics detectives initiated an investigation after receiving information that controlled substances were being sold from a residence on Silver Creek Church Road in Morganton. Detectives gathered information showing that Bruce Allen Hanna and Stephanie Denise Brown were allegedly selling controlled substances that included meth and heroin. On August 27, 2020, detectives searched the Silver Creek Road home and arrested the five individuals. The Sheriff’s Office says that meth, heroin, firearms, and drug paraphernalia were found and seized.

Hannas bond was set at $45,000 secured, Brown received an $11,000 secured bond. They were not listed as inmates in Burke County today (September 4). They’re both scheduled to appear in court September 14.
