Morganton Public Safety Receives 29K Grant To Be Used For Rescue Equipment

Morganton Department of Public Safety recently announced they have been awarded more than $29,000 in a grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.

According to a news release from the City of Morganton, Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has helped to give away millions of dollars for life-saving equipment to fire departments across the nation. The money from the grant awarded to Public Safety will be used to purchase rescue equipment, fulfilling a critical need within the department. Having the appropriate tools on hand makes all the difference in allowing first responders to effectively serve.

Morganton Public Safety’s Police Chief Jason Whisnant, said “This grant from Firehouse Subs is going to be a huge benefit to our community. Providing first responders with the right tools is crucial for them to successfully do their jobs. I am so happy that our agency reached out and applied for their grant to supply much-needed rescue equipment. On behalf of the department and its members, I want to thank the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation and our local Firehouse Subs in Morganton for recognizing our needs and awarding funding to provide this equipment.”

Whisnant said, “Our agency has, and will continue to pursue grant opportunities that allow us to purchase equipment and reduce tax burden on our citizens while providing equipment that increases our level of service to our citizens and community.”
