50-year-old Rodney Shawn Lane of Falls Street in Morganton was arrested Monday (July 24) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged with two felony counts of first-degree forcible sex offense. The warrants are dated January 1, 1999.

Lane was arrested shortly after 7 p.m. Monday at his residence after an officer responded to that location for a warrant service. Lane was brought to the Burke County Jail where he was confined under $200,000 secured bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (July 25). A District Court appearance is scheduled Thursday (July 27).
