Morganton Man Jailed On Felony Drug Charge Following Early Morning Traffic Stop

24-year-old Joshua Caleb Ceragioli of Manley Clark Road in Morganton was arrested today (April 10) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of possession of schedule II controlled substance and probation violation.

Shortly after midnight this morning, a Public Safety Officer conducted a traffic stop on Burkemont Avenue in Morganton on a green 1995 Chevy GMT after seeing the vehicle driving 55 miles-per-hour in a 45 miles-per-hour zone. Three people were inside the vehicle and Ceragioli was one of the passengers. He was placed under arrest on a probation violation warrant. He was later charged with the drug offense.

Police reportedly seized one gram of methamphetamine during their investigation. Ceragioli is on probation as a result of a conviction in Burke County in June, 2022 for felony possession of schedule II controlled substance. Ceragioli received probation and a 24 month suspended sentence.

Following the arrest, Ceragioli was incarcerated in the Burke County Jail under no bond on a 48-hour hold along with $10,000 secured bond. A court date was scheduled for Thursday (April 11).
