Morganton Man Jailed on Charge of Stealing Vehicle Parts [UPDATED 04/28 12:25 p.m.]
39-year-old Joshua Randall Pearson of Scott Road in Morganton was arrested Monday (April 24) by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony larceny of motor vehicle parts.
Pearson was arrested at 2 p.m. on the 24th when Burke County Investigators stopped a vehicle stop near the intersection of U.S. Highway 64 and Propst Road at Crestwood Drive. An Officer noticed what appeared to be a catalytic converter in the back seat of the vehicle. A search confirmed the Investigator’s suspicions and Pearson was taken into custody.
Following his arrest, Pearson was incarcerated in the Burke County Jail. He remained in jail as of this morning (April 28) under a $5,000 secured bond, plus a $200 cash bond. A first appearance in District Court was scheduled Tuesday (April 25) in Morganton with Pearson’s next court date coming up on May 15.
