Morganton Man Jailed On Break-in, Theft Charges

57-year-old Robert Paul Hubbard of Amber Lane in Morganton was arrested Sunday (July 16) by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of breaking & entering and larceny after breaking & entering along with a misdemeanor count of larceny of property, receiving or possessing stolen goods.

Hubbard was arrested shortly after 7 a.m. Sunday at an address on Jacobs Lane in Morganton. According to the North Carolina Department Of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website, Hubbard has a recent conviction listed in Burke County. On July 18, 2022, Hubbard was convicted of felony possession of schedule II controlled substance. He received probation and an 18 month suspended sentence.

Following Sunday’s arrest, the suspect was incarcerated in the Burke County Jail under $10,000 secured bond. A District Court date is set for July 20. According to the North Carolina Judicial Branch website, Hubbard has a Superior Court date scheduled August 7 in Burke County on charges including felony counts of breaking & entering, possession of stolen goods, and injury to property while obtaining nonferrous metal. Hubbard remained in jail as of earlier today (July 19).
