Morganton Man Indicted On Felony Drug Charges

34-year-old Homer Lee Cook of Iron Lane in Morganton was arrested Tuesday (March 5) by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged on a true bill of indictment with felony counts of possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for controlled substance.

According to the North Carolina Department Of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website, Cook has multiple convictions in Burke, McDowell, and Watauga Counties dating back to 2013. His most recent conviction was in September, 2022 in Burke County for felony possession of schedule II controlled substance. He was arrested shortly before 11 p.m Tuesday and released on $10,000 unsecured bond. A Superior Court date is set for April 22.
